Lobsang Tsewang is a painter and printmaker with a unique artistic journey. Raised in a Tibetan refugee settlement camp and immersed in monastic life alongside his monk brother, Tsewang draws inspiration from the monastery's walls. His art, marked by earthy tones and a fusion of mythical figures with human relatability, challenges conventional depictions of Tibetan Buddhism. Initiating the "Humanize the Idealized" project in 2017, he aims to enlighten and deepen understanding of Buddhist traditions. Tsewang creatively upcycles white scarves as canvases, addressing mass production and environmental concerns.

Lobsang received his BFA from the Fashion Institute of Technology. In 2015, he received Susan Daykin Scholarship from the Department of Fine Arts at FIT. He is currently employed at the Fashion Institute of Technology as an Exhibition Coordinator.
